Innovation is a constant factor within the industries that we support. It may be as an improved design for an item of equipment. It could even be a completely new process, either at the laboratory scale or available from overseas.

Enecon has particular experience with technology development, adaptation and scale up. We can design a new process or pilot plant and take it through to a commissioned, operating unit.

Many new processes start at laboratory scale as batch experiments with small quantities of reactants. A commercial plant may be several thousand times larger and operate continuously for thousands of hours each year - safely, reliably and with consistent product quality and high efficiency. Our experience with full-scale plants guides our work at smaller scale. We focus on the critical issues of scale up and help clients to minimise cost and risk as they develop a new process or system.

Our assignments in this area have included:

• Engagement and management of specialist research facilities in Australia and the USA for laboratory scale work.
• Equipment design, fabrication and commissioning for novel solid/liquid separation process.
• Optimisation of pilot scale metallurgical plant.
• Project management for pilot scale separation plant.
• Scale up of novel fluidised bed system including moving from batch process to continuous operation.
• Novel design, detailed engineering, fabrication and commissioning as required for skid mounted and modular plants.
